The Energy Behind the Innovation
Discover the journey behind Flōrum's mission for sustainable comfort.
One Million Years
"For a year in the 70s, I saw the world as energy."

If humans are to exist in one million years, we must make do with sustainable energy and replenishing resources. In a prelude to Flōrum, our team worked with solar power, permaculture, cogeneration of heat and power, and ecological architecture. A shelter at its core needs to protect and comfort us, from the elements, and for us to thrive. The Ventner is a product of two years of study and prototyping, and builds on the “comfort zone” concept worked on by our team partners John Ingle Yellot and Gene Clark, in research stretching back to the 1960s.
An ActiveHaus is a Dynamic Home
True comfort is about air temperature and flow, and about how our bodies interact with the radiant surfaces around us. By optimizing airflow to stream over our shelter surfaces, we could dramatically improve HVAC efficiency and create a more pleasant, stable indoor environment. We can turn our ceilings, walls and floors into equal radiant surfaces, and better circulate air to remove moisture buildup and prevent mold. For comfort, for health.
Airflow Science
Mastering the dynamics of air movement for peak performance.
Radiant Surfaces
Leveraging your home's structure for natural temperature control.

"We're not just moving air; we're orchestrating comfort. The goal is to create spaces that feel naturally perfect, using the least amount of energy possible."
Productive Step on an Enduring Journey
The Ventner product you see today is the culmination of many minds and years. But it's not the final destination. We see it as a fruit of our inquisitive and life-affirming labors to create a truly affordable, sustainable, intelligent, and effortless indoor world. And beyond our team, forward-thinking people in HVAC, architecture and materials science will collectively bring about better living and efficient use of our energy and resources. With smarts and gentler footprints, we hope that humankind can merit existence and be found thriving one million years hence.
